Fish tacos, cilantro-lime slaw and rice ... on our reindeer Christmas plates!
Perhaps it's the unseasonable weather, or the fatigue from my most recent burn rotation, or the fact that we've been skipping about from town to town and party to party; regardless, the Christmas season really snuck up on me this year. To combat this, I've been playing Christmas music in the house, burning wintry candles, and making some homemade Christmas decor!
I found the cutest wreath idea from my new addiction, Pintrest. It seemed like a genius and simple idea: ball ornaments hot-glued onto a foam wreath. I collected all my supplies (having to go to Walmart for the cheapest ornaments - the horror!) and started working.
Supplies. The water is very important! Always stay hydrated while crafting =)
Kind of at the beginning. Note my lovely $2.99 hot glue gun!
And the "I ran out of ornaments" almost-finished project
Well, a couple hours later when I ran out of ornaments, this how far along I got. I realized that (1) I didn't use enough glue and (2) when I hold it up, precariously placed ornaments crash to the floor and explode! Not good for front door usage. Today likely holds another trip to Walmart for ornaments and hot glue. Maybe I'll get it done before Christmas!
I am officially now on vacation until mid February (crazy!!) which means I will likely be doing a lot more craft projects to keep me busy. Stuart is working most of this week. We will be flying up to Memphis Thursday, driving to Gadsden early Friday, then driving back to Memphis Saturday afternoon to spend time with the fams. We'll be back home Monday and then I hope to share some fun Christmas pics!
Merry Christmas to you all!
