Girls' Wine Tasting!

Sometimes you just need a girls day.  Fortunately a lot of us were off last weekend, so what better way to spend it than heading out for a fancy wine tasting!  We went to Pippin Hill Vineyard, which I believe is probably the most beautiful setting in Charlottesville.  Jennifer Anniston agrees - she got married here!  We all shared a great meal and just enjoyed time together.

A beautiful place even on a cold winter day

We went to Albemarle Cider Works too

Deep conversations were held ...

Baby Shower!

Well it's that time of life!  Stuart and I are helping our friends welcome lots of little ones into the world.  It seems like pretty much all of our closet friends are expecting or have little ones of their own.  One of my friends from the hospital and church, Cyndi (and her husband Adrian) are getting ready to have their first baby boy!  We recently had a shower for her and it was so cute!  It was a book theme, and as you can see all the food was themed from childrens' books.  The hostesses did a wonderful job planning.  Perhaps an idea I can save for the future!

Stuart and I wish Adrian and Cyndi all the best, and know they'll be wonderful Christian parents.  Here's some pictures below.

Guessing how many squares of toilet paper could fit around Cyndi's belly.  The answer was 11 if I remember correctly!

Guessing what kind of baby food was in the jar by smell only!

Saulters' Visit

We paid a visit to the Virginia Discovery Museum.  Obviously designed for children, we learned that even adults (particularly engineers) can have a good time with the displays as well.

Vera Kate spent a lot of time in the Panera kitchen, feeding us multiple meals of bagels and loaves of bread.

Reid was pretty excited to see a model train set.

I found the bee display particularly educational and entertaining!  Did you know the queen bee is responsible for "hive morale"?

Reid played postman for a while ...

While Vera Kate was still excited about making bread

Walk ... don't walk ...

Nothing like some imaginative play.  VK made a paper plate cow, and Aunt Kacie got to keep it on her fridge!

More engineering entertainment.

Aunt and Uncle picture!!!

And now for the Saulters' family tradition.  Johnny follows an NBA player from his hometown, Al Jefferson.  Whenever he changes teams we get a new shirt and have to have a family picture!  Fortunately we found someone to snap this one for us after a while of balancing my camera on a trashcan using the self timer!

VK was inspired by taking a picture on the steps of the med school!  Who knows what's in her future!
